Robinhood Chain Sees Explosive Growth Driven by Stablecoins
Ryan Cignoni's Robinhood Chain has witnessed an impressive surge in growth this August, with its total value locked (TVL) exceeding $540 million. This represents a 45% increase from July and marks one of the network's strongest stretches since launch.
The chain was initially designed to showcase tokenized equities, but data suggests that stablecoins have become the driving force behind Robinhood Chain's expansion. Tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) grew by 120% in absolute terms, reaching $32 million, but now account for just 6% of total TVL.
The stablecoin market cap on the network has reached approximately $640 million, up over 22% from July. Ethena's USDe stablecoin led the growth, climbing nearly 50% to $286 million and capturing 44% of all stablecoins circulating on the chain. In contrast, Robinhood's native stablecoin USDG stagnated between $330-350 million throughout August.
