Robinhood Chain Smashes $85 Million Trading Volume Record on Tokenized Stocks
Robinhood Chain's daily trading volume reached a record $85.1 million on August 25, thanks to a surge in tokenized stock trades.
The platform saw a significant shift away from memecoin activity, with stock tokens accounting for $66.6 million (78% of total volume), while memecoin-stock pairs generated just $10.4 million (12%).
This dramatic reversal is attributed to the addition of 100 new stock tokens in August, bringing the total available on Robinhood Chain to over 190.
Liquidity improvements, particularly through Uniswap's correlated pools, have also contributed to the surge. These pools pair individual stock tokens with SPY (the token linked to the S&P 500 ETF), reducing liquidity providers' risk and allowing for tighter bid-ask spreads.
