Robinhood Chain Suffers 14-Minute Outage, Leaving $2.42 Billion in Assets Unrecorded
Robinhood Chain experienced an unexpected outage on September 4, leaving transactions unrecorded for at least 13 minutes. The network holds $2.42 billion in assets and saw a staggering 14.14 million transactions in the 24 hours prior to the issue.
The Blockscout explorer showed no new blocks being produced for over six minutes, with Wu Blockchain flagging the problem. Robinhood Chain typically settles a block every tenth of a second, resulting in roughly 8,400 blocks being missed during the outage window.
The network's sequencer is responsible for ordering all traffic on the chain and is also a single point of failure. Users can force transactions through Ethereum's delayed inbox after a delay, but this is not ideal for high-frequency traders.
