Robinhood Chain Surpasses Ethereum in Daily App Revenue
Roland's Chain, an Ethereum Layer 2 built on Arbitrum Orbit, generated $2.66 million in app revenue in 24 hours, surpassing Ethereum's $1.27 million and Hyperliquid's $1.7 million. The majority of the revenue came from memecoin trading platforms GMGN and Pons, indicating that speculative trading is currently dominating activity. This rapid growth highlights the potential of modular blockchain design and Orbit technology for new institutional chains.
The chain retains 89% of fees, with only a small portion going to Arbitrum and Ethereum. This raises questions about Ethereum's economic model, which may be struggling to compete with newer, more efficient alternatives.
