Robinhood Chain's Closed-Loop Experiment Hits $2.66 Million in Daily Revenue
The Robinhood Chain, launched just two months ago on July 1, has been recording impressive numbers in terms of daily trading volume and revenue. With $875 million in daily DEX trading volume and 5.52 million transactions processed over a recent weekend, the chain is setting new records. The Pons launchpad issued approximately 22,600 new tokens in a single day, with roughly $2.66 million generated by applications on RobinhoodChain within 24 hours.
Notably, this revenue figure is second only to Solana but twice that of Ethereum and six times that of Base during the same period. The GMGN, Pons, and Uniswap trio accounted for about 88% of this revenue.
Meme tokens have been rapidly accumulating market caps in the tens of millions or even hundreds of millions of dollars, with CASHCAT being a prime example. Within two weeks of launch, its market cap once exceeded $200 million. The mechanism analysis of the PONS token reveals the economic model underlying this ecosystem.
Pons is the platform coin of the Pons launchpad; on August 29, its market cap was still between $150 million and $200 million, but just one day later it surpassed $260 million. As of August 31, its market cap stood at approximately $277 million, up nearly 400% over the past seven days.
The total amount burned has already approached about 29% of the total supply. This mechanism directly prices the launchpad fees into the platform's native token, creating a positive feedback loop: 'the hotter the meme, the more tokens are issued, the higher the fees, and the stronger the buying pressure on PONS.'
Robinhood boasts 28.5 million funded customers and $355 billion in platform assets. At the launch of RobinhoodChain, infrastructure such as StockTokens, lending, perps, and Uniswap was already in place, with StockTokens available to eligible users across more than 120 countries and regions.
TradFi integration and user behavior analysis further highlight the uniqueness of this ecosystem. On RobinhoodChain, trading pairs consisting of meme tokens and stock tokens have emerged, such as NVDA paired with AI, CHIPS, and JACKET, while GameStop is paired with GME, WSB, AMC, and other meme tokens.
The daily trading volume for these 'meme/stock' pairs had at one point reached $46.1 million. This is almost an on-chain reenactment of the GameStop, AMC, and WallStreetBets culture from 2021, except that the market now operates 24/7.
The success or failure of this experiment will determine whether RobinhoodChain can transform from a mere speculative platform into a financial infrastructure with a sustainable business model. The outlook ahead hinges on a critical test point following the end of gas subsidies, set to close around the end of September.
