Robinhood Chain's DEX Volume Plummets 72% Amid Surging TVL and Transactions
Robinhood Chain's decentralized exchange (DEX) volume has taken a significant hit since its peak in mid-July, plummeting by around 72% from $878 million to between $500 million and $700 million in daily activity by early August.
This decline is notable considering the chain's other metrics are hitting all-time highs. Total Value Locked (TVL) has climbed to approximately $775 million, while stablecoin supply has reached a record near $575 million. Cumulative transactions have also surpassed 100 million, with TVL growing at around 20% week-over-week during this period.
The primary driver of early trading activity on Robinhood Chain was the meme token CASHCAT, which pushed DEX volume to its peak in mid-July. However, as speculative whale activity cooled off, average trade size collapsed, while the number of transactions continued to climb.
Interestingly, tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) have been quietly driving trading activity, with their value increasing fivefold during the peak period and reaching a valuation between $70 million and $100 million. Multiple RWAs were generating daily trading volumes above $500,000, adding credibility to the platform.
The partnership with Uniswap as the primary DEX layer adds liquidity depth and credibility, built on Arbitrum's technology stack as a Layer-2 solution.
