Robinhood Chain's DEX Volume Surges to Record $3.7 Billion Amid Memecoin Frenzy
Robinhood Chain's decentralized exchange (DEX) volume surged to a record $3.7 billion in 24 hours during September 4-5, surpassing that of larger chains like Solana and Ethereum.
The rapid growth was driven by a combination of factors, including tokenized stock trading, memecoin speculation, subsidized transaction costs, and strong Uniswap liquidity.
Uniswap captured most of the network's DEX flow, accounting for as much as 98% of Robinhood Chain DEX volume at peak levels. The platform also generated approximately $217 million in daily volume from stock-token pairs on September 2, with over 190 tokenized equities available on the network.
The surge in activity was further fueled by a 90-day gas-fee subsidy period for Robinhood Wallet users, allowing high-frequency traders and automated strategies to transact without normal network-cost constraints.
