Robinhood Chain's Trading Volumes Plummet After Memecoin Mania Fades
Rohanhood's ambitious foray into blockchain technology has hit a snag. The company launched its Ethereum Layer 2 network, Robinhood Chain, on July 1, 2026, with great fanfare and astronomical trading volumes.
In the first 24 hours after launch, the network recorded $878 million in decentralized exchange (DEX) trading volume. By late August 2026, cumulative DEX volume had reached a staggering $25 billion.
The problem isn't that the platform crashed, but rather that it's struggling to maintain momentum. Trading activity has plummeted from its launch-week highs, and scam tokens have become a major issue.
Affected wallets remain functional, but buyers are left with empty pockets after purchasing tokens that vanish into thin air. Robinhood Chain runs on the Arbitrum Orbit stack, positioning it as a customizable Ethereum Layer 2 network.
