Robinhood Crypto Trading Volume Plummets 62% Year-Over-Year
Robinhood's cryptocurrency trading volume plummeted in July, down 33% from June and a staggering 62% compared to the same period last year. According to data reported by The Block, the company's nominal crypto trading volume reached $10.9 billion last month.
The decline was felt across both of Robinhood's trading platforms, with volume executed directly within the app falling to $4.3 billion, down 74% year-over-year. Meanwhile, Bitstamp, which Robinhood acquired in 2024, handled $6.6 billion in volume, a 45% decrease from a year earlier.
The figures highlight how quickly retail interest can shift in the crypto market. July's trading activity was notably subdued compared to the first half of the year, when Bitcoin and other major assets experienced periods of high volatility and speculative enthusiasm.
