Robinhood Crypto Volume Sees Modest Gain in August
Riding a significant surge in August, Robinhood's cryptocurrency trading volume rose to $17.5 billion, up 61% from July but still trailing last year's numbers by 38%. The online brokerage cited Bitstamp as accounting for $10.1 billion of the total crypto volume, while its own app contributed $7.4 billion.
Bitstamp's participation in Robinhood's overall trading volume is notable, with a 53% increase from July but a 30% year-over-year decline. Meanwhile, trading on the Robinhood app saw a 72% month-on-month gain but fell 46% short of its August 2025 performance.
While this may indicate some recovery in crypto trading volume for Robinhood, the numbers still suggest significant challenges ahead for the online brokerage's cryptocurrency segment.
