Robinhood Expands UK Crypto Trading to 50+ Assets with Zero Fees
Robinhood has expanded its UK investing app to include over 50 digital assets for trading, with zero-fee transactions. The company has partnered with Bitstamp UK, which it acquired for $200 million last year, to provide the trading service.
The rollout follows Robinhood's registration with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) on July 31. Bitstamp UK is also FCA-registered, but crypto assets held through the service are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme or the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Crypto trading comes with a foreign exchange fee of 0.1%, while some weekend conversions carry a 0.3% fee. The introduction of Cortex Digests for Crypto, an AI-powered tool, aims to provide users with simple market summaries without needing to dig through multiple sources.
