Robinhood Gains UK Crypto Registration Amid Upcoming Regulatory Framework
Robinhood has gained UK crypto registration ahead of a new regulatory framework for the sector. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has added Robinhood's UK arm to its list of registered cryptoasset companies, effective July 31.
This means that Robinhood meets the FCA's anti-money laundering requirements, which have been in place since 2020. Over 50 companies, including Ripple and Kraken, are already approved under this regime.
The existing registration takes on added significance as a more comprehensive framework for crypto regulation is set to come into effect in October. Companies must register with the FCA between September 30 and February 28 next year.
