Roadmap to Expansion in UK Crypto Regulations Takes Shape as Robinhood Secures FCA Registration

Robinhood, a well-known platform for buying and selling cryptocurrencies, has secured registration with the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to offer cryptocurrency services.

The FCA added Robinhood's UK arm to its cryptoasset register, confirming that it meets the regulator's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements. This move places Robinhood among more than 50 registered cryptoasset firms operating under the UK's existing cryptoasset framework.

Robinhood has secured registration ahead of the planned expansion of the UK's crypto regulatory framework. The FCA will open applications for firms seeking authorisation under the new regime at the end of September and close the application window in February next year.
