Robinhood Secures FCA Crypto Registration, Boosts UK Expansion
Royal approval boosts Robinhood's UK expansion as it secures FCA crypto registration. This milestone marks a significant step in the company's growth plans, allowing it to offer eligible crypto services under the UK's current anti-money laundering framework.
The approval also gives Robinhood an early foothold before the country's new digital asset regime begins in October 2027. However, the company must still secure separate authorization under the upcoming rules.
With a strengthened regulatory footing, Robinhood is now well-positioned to build its infrastructure and attract customers in the UK market.
The uptick in ecosystem growth also supports this expansion, with total value locked climbing to $733 million. Established DeFi protocols such as Morpho, Ethena, Maple Finance, and Uniswap contribute significantly to this growth.
While concentrated liquidity remains a key consideration, the network's ability to attract recognizable protocols and improve capital efficiency for users is encouraging.
