Robinhood Stock Soars 36% on Record-Breaking Revenue
Robinhood Markets (HOOD) stock soared 36% in August, outperforming other major financial stocks and making it the best-performing one for that month. This impressive growth was driven by strong fundamentals, with Q2 revenue reaching a record $1.31 billion, up 32.5% year over year.
The company's transaction-based revenue rose 44% to $776 million in Q2, primarily due to event contracts, options, and equities activity. Event contracts were particularly notable, surging to $156 million in Q2, more than ten times the prior year, and surpassing both crypto ($100 million) and equities ($129 million) revenue for the first time.
Robinhood's expansion into new areas is also contributing to its growth. The company launched Agentic Trading in May, which allows customers to use AI agents to trade stocks, options, and crypto. By the end of Q2, nearly 100,000 customers had opened Agentic Trading accounts, with more than $100 million in assets under custody.
