Robinhood Stock Soars as Crypto Prices Rally
Robinhood Markets (Nasdaq: HOOD) shares surged more than 15% on August 21, following a volatile week for the retail brokerage. The company's stock reached an intraday high of $109.71, up from its previous close of $95.10.
Rohan's business is particularly sensitive to crypto activity and sentiment. This is partly due to its commission-free trading services for stocks, options, cryptocurrencies, and prediction markets.
In recent weeks, Robinhood has given investors several growth catalysts. On August 10, the company launched crypto trading for UK customers through Bitstamp UK, offering access to more than 50 digital assets. Three days later, the Robinhood Ventures Fund II priced an IPO valued at $225.5 million before expenses.
The latest leg higher has coincided with a broader crypto rebound, with Bitcoin climbing to its highest level since May on August 21.
