Robinhood Stock Surges 4.6% as CEO Tenev Pushes for Tokenized Equity Clarity
Robinhood's stock surged 4.6% on August 20 after CEO Vlad Tenev pushed for regulatory clarity on tokenized equities in the US.
Tenev argued that America risks falling behind overseas markets where blockchain-based stock trading is advancing, and called for a legal framework to support tokenized stocks.
Robinhood already offers over 2,000 stock tokens to European customers, giving them blockchain-based exposure to US equities backed by real shares.
The company's Ethereum Layer 2 network, Robinhood Chain, has accumulated around 500,000 holders of tokenized equities since its launch in July 2026.
