Robinhood Stock Surges on Trump Backed Crypto Legislation
Shares of Robinhood rose nearly 5% in pre-market trading on Friday following President Donald Trump's support for the Clarity Act, a proposed crypto legislation aimed at creating clearer rules for digital assets.
The Clarity Act would classify most cryptocurrencies as commodities and clearly divide regulatory responsibilities between the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), according to InvestorsHub.
This move has boosted hopes for a more crypto-friendly regulatory environment under Trump's administration, which could make it easier for financial companies like Robinhood to expand their cryptocurrency and blockchain businesses.
