Robinhood Surges Ahead of Coinbase in Growth and Fundamentals
Robinhood and Coinbase have taken different paths in their growth trajectory. While Robinhood's revenue surged by +41.5% in 2026, Coinbase's shrank by -5.4%. This has led to a significant disparity between the two companies' fundamentals and growth prospects.
Looking at the key metrics, Robinhood stands out with a market capitalization of $86.13B, revenue growth of +41.5%, and a net margin of 41.1%. In contrast, Coinbase's market capitalization is $44.13B, with a -5.4% decline in revenue and a net margin of 12.7%.
One of the main reasons for Robinhood's success is its diversified revenue engine, which includes options trading, equities, crypto, margin lending, prediction markets, and international expansion. This diversification has helped the company to reduce its dependence on any single asset class. Additionally, Robinhood's platform stickiness is evident from its 28% annualized net deposit growth.
On the other hand, Coinbase is heavily reliant on the crypto market, with a beta of 3.35 making it a turbocharged crypto derivative masquerading as a stock. The company's forward P/E ratio is an alarming 802x, indicating that analysts expect earnings to deteriorate significantly.
