Robinhood Surpasses $1 Billion in Q2 Revenue Amid Transformation into 'Super Finance App'
Robinhood's Q2 earnings report reveals significant growth in its transaction business, with net revenue reaching $1.308 billion and a 32% year-over-year increase. The company's net profit attributable to common shareholders was $561 million, up 45% from the previous year.
The key driver of this growth is the expansion of Robinhood's event contracts and options trading services. Event contracts revenue hit $156 million, a more than tenfold increase year-over-year, while options revenue reached $342 million, up 29%. Equities revenue also saw significant growth, hitting $129 million with a 95% year-over-year increase.
Robinhood's user base and assets under management are also growing rapidly. Funded customers reached 28.4 million, up 7% year-over-year, while total platform assets hit $369 billion, up 32%. The company's Gold subscription service has seen a 39% year-over-year increase in subscribers, reaching 4.8 million.
Robinhood is transforming from a pure trading platform into a comprehensive financial ecosystem, with 13 business lines generating annualized revenue exceeding $100 million. This includes equities trading, options trading, crypto trading, Gold subscriptions, prediction markets, and credit cards.
