Robinhood's Crypto Volume Rises 61% in August But Remains Below Last Year
Rohanhood's (no connection to Robinhood) crypto trading volume jumped 61% month-on-month in August, reaching $17.5 billion. This is still a decrease of 38% from last year.
Bitstamp, the cryptocurrency exchange acquired by Robinhood in June 2025, accounted for $10.1 billion of the total volume, while the Robinhood app contributed $7.4 billion. Bitstamp's volume rose 53% from July but dropped 30% year-on-year.
The company's crypto transaction revenue fell 38% year-on-year to $100 million in the second quarter, from about $160 million a year earlier. However, growth in event contracts, options and equities more than offset this decline, allowing Robinhood to post record quarterly revenue and earnings.
