Robinhood's Stealthy Build of the Everything App
Robinhood Markets Inc., an American financial technology company, has been quietly building its comprehensive consumer finance platform. While everyone watched Coinbase's struggles, Robinhood achieved a record revenue of $1.31 billion in Q2 2025, up 32%, with net income of $573 million.
The collapse of crypto trading by roughly the same amount (38% at Robinhood and over 30% on Coinbase's consumer side) did not stop the growth. The key to this success lies in the breadth of products offered, including brokerage, options, a credit card, banking with cash delivery, wealth management, AI research assistant, retirement accounts, tokenized stocks in Europe, and event contracts.
Vlad Tenev has been stating that 'we are building the Financial SuperApp' for over a year. The company's scale arrived first, with $4.47 billion of revenue in 2025, up 52%, and $1.88 billion of net income. The second quarter added proof of breadth: record trading across equities, options, and prediction markets simultaneously, equities transaction revenue up 95%, and $21.7 billion of net deposits in ninety days.
