Russia Blacklists Over 2,600 Crypto Wallets Linked to Illicit Activity

Russia's Central Bank has blacklisted over 2,600 cryptocurrency wallets linked to illicit activity. This move aims to reduce financial crime and enhance the integrity of the country's financial system.

The total value of cryptocurrency that flowed into these addresses is estimated at approximately 1 billion rubles (around $11 million at current exchange rates).

This initiative aligns with Russia's ongoing regulatory framework for digital assets, which has evolved significantly since the introduction of the country's first crypto-related legislation in 2020.
