Russia has extended its gasoline export ban through the end of 2025 in an effort to maintain domestic fuel supplies, which have been affected by Ukrainian drone strikes on refineries. The move also includes a partial ban on diesel exports for non-producers, effective immediately.
The restrictions are not a one-off emergency measure but part of a rolling strategy to manage fuel availability during wartime conditions, according to Russian officials. This pattern has been consistent since earlier bans covered stretches from April through July.
Western sanctions have made it difficult for Russian enterprises to settle energy trades through conventional banking channels, prompting them to turn to Bitcoin, Ether, and Tether's USDT for settlement instead.
