Russia Greenlights BTC, ETH, and USDT Under New Crypto Law
Russia's new cryptocurrency law has come into effect on September 1, 2026, allowing Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT to be traded under the Bank of Russia's supervision.
The three approved assets can now be accessed by retail investors through licensed platforms. However, strict purchase limits remain in place, limiting access to these digital currencies.
Crypto payments within Russia are still prohibited, a key provision of the law that aims to regulate the market and prevent illicit activities.
