Russia Launches Regulated Crypto Market Framework for International Trade
Russia has launched a regulated crypto market framework that allows for the use of digital assets in international trade settlements. The new framework, which came into effect on September 1, permits Russian investors to buy and sell cryptocurrency through regulated intermediaries.
Exporters and importers can now use digital assets for cross-border payments, expanding legal use cases for crypto in Russia. Although the Ripple token is not specifically named, its design as a bridge asset for international settlements positions it as a potential tool for these transactions.
The framework does not guarantee the adoption of any particular cryptocurrency, leaving future usage dependent on market choices by Russian and foreign parties. Meanwhile, in other news, XRP-linked ETF XRPM has integrated into the US investment system with an income strategy and growing institutional interest.
