Russia Launches Regulated Crypto Trading with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether
Russia has launched a regulated cryptocurrency trading environment featuring Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Tether (USDT). The central bank evaluated these digital assets based on market depth, liquidity metrics, transaction volumes, and historical price data. This initiative forms part of an extensive digital currency regulatory structure set to launch on September 1.
Bitcoin secured the top spot in Russia's approved crypto roster due to its satisfaction of the central bank's liquidity and historical trading criteria. Qualifying digital assets must demonstrate substantial market valuation, consistent daily transaction activity, and minimum five-year international pricing records.
Retail investors without professional qualification will encounter a 300,000-ruble yearly acquisition threshold per authorized intermediary. These participants must successfully pass a competency examination before purchasing Bitcoin via supervised exchanges or broker platforms.
