The Russian Central Bank has officially authorized regulated trading in cryptocurrencies on domestic platforms. According to a statement, investors will be able to buy and sell cryptocurrencies through licensed brokers and regulated trading platforms. The move paves the way for the launch of a legal digital-asset market under a new legislative framework.

The use of cryptocurrencies for domestic payments in Russia remains prohibited, while their use for foreign trade settlements is permitted under specific rules. This decision marks an important step forward in Russia's approach to cryptocurrency regulation.
