Russia Opens Public Markets to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT
The Central Bank of Russia has proposed a framework allowing individuals to access three cryptocurrencies on public markets. The project targets Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT, with an annual limit for non-qualified investors.
According to the draft directive, non-qualified investors could buy digital assets via brokers, exchanges, or managers. However, the central bank indicated that crypto would remain subject to an annual ceiling set at 300,000 rubles per intermediary.
The new framework also includes a mandatory step before any transaction, requiring all investors to pass a test and become aware of the risks associated with crypto-assets.
