Russia Publishes Draft Regulations for Regulated Crypto Trading
The Bank of Russia has published draft regulations for regulated crypto trading in the country. The new rules aim to support trading under Russia's digital-currency law, which was adopted in July.
The regulations cover exchange rules, price reporting, digital ownership records, and capital requirements for specialized custodians. According to the central bank's announcement, the proposals are meant to give financial institutions a clear view of how the country's regulated crypto market may operate.
Exchanges would be required to publish standardized crypto prices, while custodians would face stricter capital rules, ranging from $640,000 to $3.2 million depending on their business model.
