Russia Sees 107% Surge in Demand for Hardware Crypto Wallets Amid New Regulations
Russia has seen a significant surge in demand for hardware crypto wallets, with sales increasing by 107% and monetary turnover rising by 92% in the second quarter of this year.
This growth is attributed to various factors, including preparation for new rules on handling digital currencies, the desire for personal control over assets, and the decline in the Bitcoin exchange rate and position averaging.
A hardware crypto wallet, unlike a hot wallet, stores private keys on a separate device, reducing the risk of remote hacking. Valery Petrov, a member of the expert council of the Russian Association of Crypto Economy, emphasized that these devices do not provide absolute security and users must still follow basic caution.
Before purchasing a hardware crypto wallet, it is essential to consider several parameters, including supported currencies, security level, interface convenience, compatibility, price, and official support. It is recommended to buy directly from the manufacturer or authorized resellers to minimize risks.
