Russia Sees 107% Surge in Hardware Crypto Wallet Demand Amidst Crypto Regulation
Russia has seen a significant increase in demand for hardware crypto wallets, with sales rising by 107% and monetary turnover up by 92% in the second quarter of 2026. This surge is attributed to the impending implementation of the Law "On Cryptocurrency", which is driving Russians to seek secure storage solutions for their digital assets.
M.Video's head of Computer Components, Fedor Pavlenko, noted that hardware crypto wallets have become a separate category of personal electronics. They offer safe storage, as private keys never leave the device and are not transferred to third-party services.
The increase in demand is linked to several factors: preparation for new rules on digital currencies, the desire for personal control over assets, and the decline in Bitcoin's exchange rate.
