Russia Sees $46B+ in Regulated Crypto Trading Volume by Year-End
Russia's financial regulator is expecting regulated crypto trading volume to reach $46.4 billion in the first year, according to Bank of Russia estimates.
Sberbank, one of Russia's largest banks, is considering providing loans against crypto collateral for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and USDT.
However, Sberbank Deputy Chairman Anatoly Popov noted that USDT introduces additional sanctions risks for Russian institutions due to its potential freeze or seizure by stablecoin issuers under sanctions-related restrictions.
