Russia Takes Step Towards Regulated Crypto Market
Russia has introduced new rules for cryptocurrency, recognizing it as property and allowing buying and selling through domestic regulated infrastructure.
The Central Bank is still finalizing the rules for its participants, with a transitional period in effect until June 30, 2027.
Crypto can be bought through brokers and exchangers, traded on licensed platforms, and stored in digital depositories, organizations that record transactions and ensure asset safety.
The Moscow and SPB Exchanges plan to launch trading by the end of 2026, with major players such as Sber, T-Bank, and VTB preparing their own services.
