Russia Unveils New Crypto Depository Rules Ahead of September Launch
Russia's move to regulate its cryptocurrency market continues with new rules for digital depositories and organized trading. The Bank of Russia aims to create a structured framework before the broader crypto legislation begins in September.
The new standards focus on strengthening market transparency, investor protection, and operational stability. Regulators want digital asset infrastructure to meet financial standards similar to those governing traditional securities markets.
Digital depositories must maintain capital ranging from ₽50 million to ₽250 million, depending on their business model and services. Operators must also hold liquid assets with strong credit quality to support financial resilience.
