Russia Unveils Rules for Buying Crypto Through Intermediaries
The Russian government has announced new rules for buying and selling cryptocurrency through intermediaries. Unqualified investors will be able to purchase digital currencies, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, after passing a test and within an annual limit of 300,000 rubles per year through one intermediary.
Qualified investors will also need to take the test but will have access to any digital currencies without a limit on the amount. The new rules aim to differentiate between retail participants and more experienced investors who are willing to take on increased risks.
