Russians Get Green Light for Abroad Crypto Transfers Starting Sept 1
Russians will be allowed to transfer cryptocurrency abroad starting September 1, according to the Bank of Russia. The change comes after Federal Laws 282 and 283 take effect on that date, allowing investors to buy digital assets, including cryptocurrencies and stablecoins, as well as send them abroad.
The key conditions for such transactions are compliance with established requirements. Both qualified and non-qualified investors will be able to purchase cryptocurrencies and stablecoins in compliance with these requirements, as well as transfer such assets abroad.
The Bank of Russia has outlined three main types of digital currency that can be transferred: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Tether, and USDC. These transactions will not go unchecked, and standard currency control mechanisms and anti-money laundering procedures will apply to them.
