Russia's Crypto Mining Ban Keeps Bitcoin Rangebound
Russia has imposed a moratorium on crypto mining and mining-pool activities in Moscow, the Moscow Region, and parts of Kursk from August 15, 2026 through December 31, 2032. This ban introduces significant regulatory constraints for mining operations and injects uncertainty into global Bitcoin network supply dynamics.
The BTC/USD price is trading at $63,602, marking a modest daily advance but remaining below medium- and long-term moving averages.
A technical analysis of the market indicates that the price is expected to range between $62,005 and $64,488 over the next two to three days, with a 48% probability for an upside move and a 52% chance of a downside scenario. The presence of a negative gap alongside overbought oscillator levels contrasts with the underlying bearish momentum.
