Sber, Russia's largest bank, is expanding its cryptocurrency-backed loan services to include Bitcoin, Ether, and USDT as collaterals. The move comes as Russia prepares to enter a regulated framework for cryptocurrencies, with the main rules set to come into effect on September 1st.

The addition of these three assets will depend on their authorized listing by the central bank, which determines tradable assets on platforms. According to TASS agency, Sber's vice president Anatoly Popov indicated that the bank will expand its offer based on this authorization.

Russia is setting up a regulated crypto market, and the country's central bank has proposed Bitcoin, Ether, and USDT as approved assets based on their capitalization and price history. This framework can facilitate the adaptation of cryptocurrency-backed loans for Sber.
