Russia's Regulated Crypto Market Aims for $46 Billion in First Year
Russia's regulated crypto market is set to launch soon, aiming to process between 3.5 and 4 trillion rubles (about $46 billion) in its first year.
This figure could potentially grow to 7.5 trillion rubles by 2029 as the new framework allows both qualified and ordinary investors to trade crypto through regulated intermediaries.
The purchase limits and knowledge tests for non-qualified investors are part of the regulatory measures to bring crypto trading into Russia's domestic financial system, increasing demand for ruble liquidity and regulated custody services.
Sberbank is also preparing to offer crypto-backed loans, signaling broader integration of crypto into Russia's financial infrastructure.
