Russia's Regulated Crypto Market Set to Surpass $46 Billion in First Year
Russia is preparing to launch regulated cryptocurrency trading on September 1, with projected annual volumes exceeding $46 billion by the end of its first year. According to Sberbank Deputy Chairman Anatoly Popov, regulated exchanges in Russia are expected to generate at least $46.43 billion in cryptocurrency trading volume during their first year.
The projection could increase substantially over the following years, reaching as much as $87.06 billion by 2029. The estimated figures point to potentially significant activity within Russia's regulated crypto market once the new framework becomes operational.
Under the planned rules, access will differ depending on an investor's classification. Non-qualified investors will face an annual purchasing limit of $3,800 when using a single licensed intermediary.
