Russia's Regulated Crypto Trading Market Could Reach $46 Billion in First Year
Russia's regulated crypto trading market is expected to process between 3.5 trillion and 4 trillion rubles in its first year, according to a forecast from SberCIB Investment Research.
This estimate represents roughly 20% of Russia's estimated annual cryptocurrency transaction volume today, which totals around 50 billion rubles daily.
The forecast assumes limited migration to regulated exchanges, with substantial activity expected to remain with unregistered services.
Non-qualified investors will face annual purchase limits of 300,000 rubles through each intermediary after passing a knowledge test, while qualified investors can access any cryptocurrency without monetary ceiling.
