RWA Trading Surpasses Crypto on Hyperliquid Platform
Hyperliquid (HYPE), a leading decentralized derivatives platform, has seen a significant shift in trading volume. Last week, real-world assets (RWA) surpassed cryptocurrencies as the largest contributor to trading volume on the platform.
According to ARK Invest research director Lorenzo Valente, RWA represented 54% of total trading volume during this period. This marks the first time RWAs have outpaced crypto in a single week.
The HIP-3 framework on Hyperliquid enables perpetual futures trading on tokenized equities, commodities, and other assets. Within this framework, individual equities now account for 61% of RWA trading volume, surpassing indices and commodities since June.
Valente notes that Hyperliquid captured $50 billion of the $79 billion in overall decentralized exchange (DEX) perpetual futures volume during this period. The platform's RWA market alone accounted for $26 billion of its total trading volume.
