S.BLOX Becomes First Japanese Exchange to List Midnight's Privacy-Focused Token
Sony-affiliated S.BLOX has become the first Japanese exchange to list NIGHT, the native token of the privacy-focused blockchain Midnight. This marks a significant milestone for the Midnight project and its goal of balancing data protection with blockchain utility.
NIGHT was initially issued on the Cardano network in 2022 by Charles Hoskinson, co-founder of Ethereum and founder of Cardado. Midnight has since gone live, and NIGHT now circulates on both the Midnight chain and the Cardano network (cNIGHT) in a one-to-one correspondence.
The listing on S.BLOX was made possible due to Midnight's incorporation of regulatory compliance into its design, which employs zero-knowledge proof technology. This approach has allowed the token to be listed on a registered Japanese exchange for the first time, despite previous challenges faced by privacy coins in Japan.
