SA Tightens Oversight on Cross-Border Crypto Transactions
The National Treasury and South African Reserve Bank (SARB) have released a draft manual proposing a comprehensive regulatory framework for cross-border crypto-asset transactions in South Africa.
The framework, part of broader reforms under the draft Capital Flow Management Regulations, aims to authorise, supervise, and require reporting of cross-border transactions by crypto asset service providers.
Luno, a local crypto exchange, has pushed back against Treasury's proposed regulations.
