SafePal Data Breach Exposes 39k Customers, Wallet Keys Remain Secure
SafePal, a popular crypto wallet provider, has announced a security breach that affected around 39,798 customers. The incident occurred due to a flaw in an order tracking plugin for its ecommerce platform.
The vulnerability allowed unauthorized access to customer information, including names, email addresses, shipping addresses, phone numbers, and purchase information. However, SafePal assures users that their seed phrases, private keys, wallet passwords, payment data, and government IDs were not compromised in the breach.
The incident occurred between March 2, 2025, and April 11, 2026. Affected customers have been notified via email, and a webpage has been set up for them to check if their details were included in the order by entering their Order ID and country of shipping.
SafePal advises users to be vigilant about phishing attempts and impersonation activities. The company warns that scammers may use legitimate customer information to forge messages and ask customers to disclose wallet details. To mitigate this risk, SafePal has added additional security measures and patched the vulnerability.
