SafePal Discloses Data Breach Affecting Almost 40,000 Users' Order Information
Crypto wallet provider SafePal disclosed a data breach affecting nearly 40,000 users' order information on August 16. The breach involved unauthorized access to customers' personal details such as names and addresses through an authorization flaw in the order tracking system between March 2, 2025, and April 11, 2026.
The compromised information could be used for targeted phishing and impersonation attempts, SafePal warned. However, the wallet provider emphasized that the breach did not involve access to sensitive data such as seed phrases, private keys, or bank account and payment card information.
SafePal has since fixed the issue and introduced further security measures. The firm also took down more than 30 fraudulent websites and phishing links tied to the breach. Affected users' order information will be retained in SafePal's system for only 90 days.
