SafePal Discloses Data Breach Affecting Nearly 40,000 Users' Order Information
Crypto wallet provider SafePal has disclosed a data breach that exposed nearly 40,000 users' order information. The issue occurred between March 2, 2025, and April 11, 2026, due to an authorization flaw in the order tracking system.
The affected customers' personal details, including names and addresses, were accessible to unauthorized parties during this period. However, SafePal assures that sensitive information such as seed phrases, private keys, wallet passwords, bank account and payment card data, and government-issued identification numbers remained secure.
As a result of the breach, affected users' order information could be used for targeted phishing and impersonation attempts. SafePal has taken steps to address the issue, including fixing the authorization flaw and introducing additional security measures.
