Salinas Shifts 70% Portfolio to Bitcoin Amid Fiat Inflation Warning
Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas has made his stance on Bitcoin clear, urging followers to buy and hold it as protection from fiat inflation. He claims that fiat inflation acts as a hidden tax, reducing the value of wages and savings.
In an X post on August 31, Salinas told his millions of followers to buy Bitcoin, arguing that its supply cannot be expanded at will. This is in line with his long-held view that monetary expansion erodes purchasing power over time.
Salinas' own portfolio allocation has shifted significantly, with a reported 70% now dedicated to Bitcoin. He made this disclosure earlier in 2026, when he said he had increased his Bitcoin allocation from 10% to 70%. This move reflects his personal investment strategy and reinforces the monetary argument he promotes.
Salinas has been vocal about his criticism of central bank policy, describing traditional government money as 'the fiat fraud.' He has even gone so far as to persuade his wife to mortgage a house to buy Bitcoin.
