Samsung Adds Stablecoin Support to 800 Million Devices

Share

Samsung, one of the world's leading technology giants, is making a significant move into the cryptocurrency space. The company has announced that it will be adding native stablecoin support to its 800 million smartphones worldwide. This strategic step underscores Samsung's vision to become not just a hardware manufacturer, but also a global financial infrastructure provider.

The integration of direct stablecoin support on Samsung devices is expected to solve the 'distribution' problem, which has been one of the biggest hurdles to cryptocurrency adoption. With its massive device network and existing crypto wallet services through its Knox security system since 2019, Samsung aims to bridge crypto liquidity with daily spending channels.

Samsung's investment in Dunamu, the operator of Upbit, is also a strategic move to secure technical infrastructure behind this system. The $408 million investment will give the company a direct say in stablecoin and AI-powered payment systems.
